About Me
I am currently the Clinical Director and Group Facilitator at Teen, Tween, and Child Counseling & Consulting, PLLC. Our practice is dedicated to supporting children, teens, families, schools, and faith communities through evidence-based counseling services, school consultation, and professional development.
I have experience supporting children, teens, families, and individuals on their journey toward wholeness while navigating behavioral, emotional, developmental, and family-related challenges.
Each person is created with a unique set of strengths, skills, and abilities that may not always be recognized or accepted in today’s culture. I have over 20 years of experience, including more than 10 years of clinical support, working with children and families across the home, school, and community.
As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and certified continuing education provider through several organization, both clinical and non-clinical organizations. I am committed to equipping children, families, educators, churches, and community organizations with practical, ethical, and clinically sound support.
Teen, Tween, and Child Counseling & Consulting, PLLC also provides faith-based workshops, professional development, and mental health training grounded in best practices, North Carolina laws, and current policy standards. Our trainings help schools, churches, and organizations better understand school safety, mandated reporting, suicide prevention, trauma-informed care, and child protection laws.
I have experience supporting youth and families facing:
Major depressive disorder
Anxiety and depression
ADHD and autism spectrum disorder
Behavioral and emotional challenges
Childhood grief and trauma
Foster care and adoption
Family conflict and family transitions
School suspensions and academic struggles
Substance abuse concerns
Emotional regulation difficulties
Suicide prevention and crisis intervention needs
Professional development for educators
Child protection and crisis intervention training
Our youth are not “bad”; they are navigating significant challenges in today’s world, much like many adults who are also working to make sense of complex and overwhelming realities. I have witnessed meaningful change in children and adolescents who were once unfairly labeled in ways that followed them from elementary school and beyond. The approaches used in both individual counseling sessions and group work are rooted in strategies that have consistently supported growth, reduced harmful behaviors, and strengthened emotional regulation in youth over time. Through my work in community mental health and school-based counseling, I have developed clinical and practical interventions designed to support lasting change by meeting each child where they are and building on their existing strengths.
For Parents & Guardians
Thank you for recognizing your child's current need for therapeutic support. The past four years have been particularly challenging for our children, and for some families, these difficulties have persisted longer or even predated the pandemic. We are committed to partnering with you and your family as we explore alternative solutions to address present negative behaviors. It’s important to remember that the interventions learned in a group setting are most effective when consistently practiced.
For Child, Tween or Teen
Our counseling services are designed with you in mind, offering both individual and group counseling in a creative, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment. Through individual counseling, youth receive personalized, one-on-one support to build coping skills, strengthen emotional regulation, and navigate challenges at home, school, and in their communities. Group counseling provides an energetic, supportive space to connect with peers, practice communication and problem-solving skills, and build positive relationships with parents, teachers, and other trusted adults.
Together, these services foster meaningful connections, confidence, and growth, helping youth feel understood, supported, and empowered.
